Postponed or abandoned matches in Soccer 6: what happens to your ticket
A leg of your Soccer 6 gets rained off or abandoned — is your ticket dead? Usually not. How operators typically settle unplayed legs, and what to check.
The short answer
A postponed or abandoned match does not usually kill your ticket. The standard approach in South African soccer pools is that a leg which is not completed by the operator's cut-off is settled in a way that keeps every entry alive on that leg — most commonly, all selections on the unplayed match are treated as correct.
The exact mechanics differ between operators and bet types, and the operator's published rules are the final word. What follows is the common pattern, not a promise about any specific pool.
How unplayed legs are typically settled
When a match is called off before the pool closes, the operator will usually either replace it with a reserve fixture (if the rules name one) or declare the leg void and count every selection on it as a winner. When a match kicks off but is abandoned mid-game, the deciding factor is normally whether it is completed — or an official result declared — before a stated deadline.
The practical effect of an all-winners leg: the pool effectively becomes a Soccer 5. Full houses get easier, more tickets survive, and the dividend shrinks accordingly. Your entry is alive, but so is everyone else's.
What this means for how you build a ticket
Fixture risk is one more reason not to burn your budget doubling legs that do not need it. A doubled leg that ends up all-winners was money spent covering an outcome that never needed covering.
Weather-affected rounds and congested fixture periods raise the odds of a postponement. When the list includes a match already flagged as doubtful in the news, remember your doubles budget might be better spent on the legs that will definitely be played. This week's sheet notes anything our fixtures feed flags before the deadline.
Always check the house rules
Before you place a pool entry with any operator, find the rules page and read the section on postponed, abandoned and rescheduled matches. It is two minutes that removes every surprise in this article. Licensed South African operators publish these rules — if you cannot find them, that is a reason to use a different operator.
If a settlement ever looks wrong to you, the operator's support desk is the route; pools are regulated products and settlements are auditable. And as always: 18+, and only money you can afford to lose.
